This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with either amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil as monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

Take one tablet once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20 milligrams: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 milligrams or olmesartan medoxomil 20 milligrams monotherapy. - 10/20 milligrams: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with olmesartan medoxomil 20 milligrams monotherapy.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, therefore it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Individuals with allergies to this medication or similar drugs, pregnant or nursing women, patients with severe liver impairment, those with severe aortic stenosis, patients with biliary obstruction, those receiving renal dialysis, patients in shock, certain diabetic patients, and patients with severely impaired kidney function should not take this medication. Patients with low blood pressure due to fluid or salt depletion may experience a significant drop in blood pressure upon initial administration of this medication, so careful monitoring of their condition is necessary at the start. This medication has a vasodilatory effect, and patients with heart or vascular issues should take it with caution. Patients with impaired kidney function or severe liver impairment should regularly check their kidney and liver status while taking this medication. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, cough, indigestion, rash, edema, etc., may occur when taking this medication, so any unusual symptoms should be discussed with healthcare professionals. It is especially advised not to take this medication during pregnancy, and if planning to become pregnant, it is recommended to switch to another safe treatment. Women who are breastfeeding are advised to discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking the medication as it may be transferred into breast milk. Children under the age of 18 are not recommended to take this medication as the safety and effectiveness have not been established. Elderly patients may have reduced kidney and liver function, so dosages should be adjusted and monitored closely while taking this medication. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension and vascular dilation may lead to cardiac issues, requiring prompt medical attention.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination.
