(Hypertension, angina) Improvement of myocardial ischemia and reduction of the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke (cardiovascular risk factors)
This medication is used for patients who require treatment with both amlodipine and atorvastatin. Amlodipine improves myocardial ischemia due to hypertension and stable angina, particularly reducing the risk of hospitalization related to angina in patients with coronary artery disease and the risk associated with vascular interventions. Atorvastatin is highly effective in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, lower the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, vascular interventions, and angina. Additionally, it helps control blood lipid levels by improving cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia. Thus, this drug is used to improve symptoms and reduce the risk of complications in patients with hypertension, coronary artery disease, and hyperlipidemia.
This medication is administered to adults only, and the dosage should be individualized based on the efficacy and tolerance of each component. Amlodipine (S-Amlodipine): Administer 5 (2.5) mg orally once daily and may be increased to a maximum of 10 (5) mg daily depending on the patient's response. Atorvastatin: The recommended initial dose is 10 mg once daily, but may be initiated at 20 mg or 40 mg if necessary. Once daily
This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it is contraindicated for those allergic to this drug or similar drugs, those with severe liver dysfunction, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with muscle disorders, those with severe aortic stenosis, patients in shock, those with severe hypotension, patients who have recently experienced a myocardial infarction, and those with unstable angina. Furthermore, caution should be exercised for patients with very poor kidney function, the elderly, alcoholics, patients with a history of liver diseases, those with a history of muscle disorders or those taking certain medications. This drug is used to lower blood pressure and control blood lipid levels and is generally well-tolerated; however, some patients may experience mild side effects such as flushing, fatigue, edema, dizziness, headache, or dyspepsia. Rarely, symptoms such as myalgia, liver dysfunction, allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, neurological symptoms, etc. may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. This drug may be harmful to the fetus in pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, so it should not be taken during pregnancy, and if pregnancy occurs while taking the drug, it should be discontinued immediately. Breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication. The safety and efficacy of this drug in children and the elderly have not been fully established, so caution is needed. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension, shock, and cardiac problems may occur, so immediate treatment at a medical facility is required. This medication can interact with several other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist, especially when combined with certain antibiotics, antifungals, immunosuppressants, some antihypertensives, and anticoagulants. Finally, this drug should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
