This medication is used to control the blood pressure of patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once a day, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). In patients whose blood pressure is not controlled, a stepwise administration may be performed at doses of 5/80 mg, 5/160 mg, and 10/160 mg following individual component dosage adjustments. For patients with kidney or liver impairment, dosage modifications and restrictions apply.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and therefore, the use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately when pregnancy is confirmed. It is safe not to take this medication in patients with allergies to its active ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver disease, and patients with a history of certain heart diseases or angioedema. Patients with insufficient sodium or fluid in the body are at risk for hypotension, so conditions should be carefully checked before taking it, and blood pressure and symptoms should be closely monitored during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels or taking medications that may increase potassium should frequently check their potassium levels and proceed with caution. Patients with impaired kidney function, kidney transplant recipients, previous episodes of angioedema, heart failure, or those recovering from myocardial infarction require careful management when taking this medication. Caution is advised as dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs or certain medications, so it is essential to frequently check kidney function and electrolyte levels. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and it is not recommended for breastfeeding women. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, its use is not recommended. In cases of overdose, hypotension, dizziness, and in severe cases, shock may occur, and immediate medical treatment should be sought. It is important to consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if any unusual symptoms or discomfort occurs during the use of this medication.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities with cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), generalized extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, and urination issues.
