In patients with selenium deficiency, it may be difficult to replenish through nutritional intake alone, hence improving deficiency status through selenium supplementation. This medicine is used to prevent and treat various health problems caused by selenium deficiency.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Take 1 tablet (100μg of selenium) once daily, with a maximum of 2 tablets (200μg of selenium) per day. This medicine should be taken with water without chewing.

Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by individuals allergic to this drug or its components. Infants under 12 months old or individuals with selenium toxicity should also avoid taking this medicine. While taking this medicine, it should not be taken concurrently with reducing agents such as vitamin C. If vitamin C needs to be taken, it should be taken separately at least 4 hours apart from this medicine. People with heart or circulatory issues or kidney disorders, as well as individuals with low protein levels, must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should also consult beforehand. Nursing mothers should be cautious as the components of this medicine can be transmitted through breast milk. Individuals receiving medical treatment or suffering from gastrointestinal diseases such as peptic ulcers, chronic ulcerative colitis, or localized colitis should consult a professional before taking this medicine. Children under 12 years old should also consult before usage. If symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine for about a month, discontinuation and consultation with a professional is required. If unusual symptoms appear such as dermatitis, foul odor during sweating or respiration, hair loss, anxiety, or vomiting, immediate cessation and consultation is necessary. If an allergic reaction occurs, use should be stopped. Overdose may cause symptoms such as a garlic-like smell from the mouth, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Chronic overdose can affect the growth of nails and hair and lead to neurological disorders. In the case of overdose, measures such as gastric lavage, induction of urination, or high-dose vitamin C should be taken, and in severe cases, dialysis may be required. At this time, substances such as dimercaprol should not be used as they may worsen toxicity. This medicine must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and frequency. Administration to children should be supervised by caregivers. During or before/after taking this medicine, it is advisable to avoid teas containing tannins, such as green tea and black tea. When storing, keep this medicine in a tightly closed container to avoid exposure to air or humidity, and store it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. This storage method helps to safely maintain the medicine's effectiveness.
