Treatment for improvement of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, etc.)
This medication is effective for various gastrointestinal diseases, including gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is particularly useful for the prevention and treatment of ulcers caused by surgical procedures or NSAID use. Additionally, it helps improve gastric mucosal lesions such as exacerbation of acute and chronic gastritis and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication alleviates inflammation, bleeding, redness, and swelling in the gastric mucosa and is used to enhance gastrointestinal health.
As ranitidine, take 150 mg orally, twice daily in the morning and at bedtime. 1) For gastric and duodenal ulcers: Take 150 mg orally, twice daily, or 300 mg once daily at bedtime. Particularly, for patients with duodenal ulcers, taking 300 mg twice daily, in the morning and at bedtime, increases the treatment rate. The same applies to prevention in combination therapy due to NSAID administration.
For children aged 8 to 18 years, the dosage may be 150 mg (2 mg per kg body weight) per dose, administered up to 2 times a day.
This medication should not be used in patients with a known allergy to any of its components or with a history of acute porphyria. Additionally, patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication. Patients with poor kidney function may have delayed elimination of this medication, therefore the dosage should be reduced or the dosing interval increased, and cautious use is necessary for patients with impaired liver function. Patients with a history of drug allergy reactions, elderly patients, and those taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) should use this medication with caution. This medication may conceal symptoms of gastric cancer, so gastric ulcer patients or middle-aged patients with newly developed indigestion symptoms should verify whether it is cancer before use. Patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori should also receive eradication therapy. Rarely, this medication may cause severe allergic reactions or abnormalities in blood, liver dysfunction, heart issues, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological symptoms, myalgia, or skin reactions; if any unusual symptoms occur, stop taking it immediately and consult healthcare professionals. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be conducted during treatment to monitor the condition.
