This medication is used to assist effective blood pressure control in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not well controlled by monotherapy with either telmisartan or amlodipine alone. It helps reduce the risk of complications from hypertension and improves overall cardiovascular health. In other words, this medication is used for blood pressure management in patients with essential hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water and regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). 40/5 mg: Administer to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 5 mg of amlodipine or 40 mg of telmisartan. 80/5 mg: Administer to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 5 mg of amlodipine or 40/5 mg of this medication.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication must not be used during pregnancy as it can cause serious harm to the fetus, particularly in the second and third trimesters. If pregnancy is confirmed, this medication should be discontinued as soon as possible. The medication should not be used in individuals allergic to its components, in pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, in nursing mothers, in patients with severe liver or biliary disorders, in patients with very weak heart function, in patients with severe hypotension, in patients in cardiogenic shock, or in patients with unstable heart failure after myocardial infarction. This medication should not be used during pregnancy and should preferably not be taken while nursing. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, arrhythmia, and decreased kidney function may occur, so immediate medical attention is required. This medicine may interact with other drugs, so any concurrent medications should be disclosed to a doctor or pharmacist.
