Used to provide additional treatment for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy of Telmisartan or Amlodipine.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., morning). If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, it can be increased to 40/5 mg, 80/5 mg, or 40/10 mg. Dose adjustments may be necessary based on kidney impairment, liver impairment, and age.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication for pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious side effects to the fetus or newborn when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use it. It should not be administered to patients with allergies to any of the components, severe heart disease, liver disorders, kidney disorders, and breastfeeding women. Caution is required when using this drug in patients with primary aldosteronism, certain heart valve diseases, liver disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, renovascular hypertension, hypotension, dialysis patients, and the elderly. This drug may commonly cause side effects like dizziness and peripheral edema, and serious adverse effects may occur rarely, so consultation with a healthcare professional should be sought immediately if any abnormal symptoms arise. This drug should not be used during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately and switched to another safe treatment method. Since hypotension may occur, patients who are hypovolemic or hyponatremic should adjust their conditions before administration, and their blood pressure should be monitored periodically during treatment. Due to the risk of elevated potassium levels in the blood, patients with a risk of hyperkalemia should have regular blood tests. Patients with impaired kidney function should also use it cautiously while frequently checking their kidney status with blood tests. Patients with heart disease may have an increased risk of myocardial infarction or angina when using this drug, so caution is advised. This medication can cause drowsiness or dizziness when driving or operating machinery, so caution is necessary. There may be interactions with other drugs, so if currently taking other medications, it is essential to inform healthcare professionals, especially when using specific heart medications, diuretics, lithium, warfarin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is safer for breastfeeding women not to take this medication. This drug is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age as its safety and efficacy have not been adequately established. Elderly patients need to be administered with adjusted dosages as they may react more sensitively to this medication. In case of overdose, symptoms like low blood pressure, dizziness, and acute renal failure may occur; immediate medical attention is required. This drug should be kept out of reach of children, and to maintain quality, it should not be transferred to other containers and should be opened just before ingestion.
