Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive esophagitis) and treatment of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers, prevention of gastric ulcers related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use, etc.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis. It is also effective in alleviating symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is used to treat and prevent recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection and helps treat and prevent upper gastrointestinal symptoms and gastric ulcers related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It can also be used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and is effective in preventing rebleeding of gastric or duodenal ulcers after intravenous administration. It is used to improve various gastrointestinal disorders and associated symptoms and lesions.
This medication should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - If necessary, once daily.
Adolescents 12 years and older - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.
This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to this medication or have experienced hypersensitivity reactions should not take it. Caution is also required for patients taking certain antibiotics or other medications, as there may be risks of side effects or interactions. In particular, women who are breastfeeding and patients with a history of myocardial infarction should not take this medication. When taking this medication, various adverse reactions may occur. Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis, shock, hypomagnesemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, fever, mental confusion, aggression, hallucinations, pancreatitis, hepatitis, jaundice, hepatic failure, encephalopathy, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), muscle weakness, renal failure.
