This medicine is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly for erosive reflux esophagitis and maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis. It also helps relieve symptoms associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is effective in treating and preventing recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It is also used to treat and prevent gastric ulcers and gastrointestinal symptoms arising from the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and as maintenance therapy to prevent bleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. It is widely utilized for various gastrointestinal disorders.
