It should not be administered to patients with allergic reactions to this medicine or those who are intolerant to it. Patients with liver disease or manic episodes of bipolar disorder should avoid using this medicine. Patients with malignant mammary tumors involving the breast should also not use this medicine due to its prolactin-releasing effect. This medicine contains lactose and should not be used by patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. Hypertensive patients, children, and elderly individuals should use this medicine with caution. In particular, children may exhibit extrapyramidal symptoms due to overdose, requiring careful monitoring. Additionally, neurological symptoms such as tremors, tongue twisting, and anxiety may rarely occur; if these occur, the medication should be discontinued. Long-term use may lead to involuntary movements around the mouth, which may persist even after stopping the medication. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include dry mouth, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation. Cardiac-related side effects may include hypertension or arrhythmias, which warrant attention. This medication may cause a serious side effect known as neuroleptic malignant syndrome, characterized by high fever, muscle rigidity, inability to move, and changes in consciousness; if these symptoms arise, the medication should be stopped immediately, and emergency treatment is necessary.
