How to take
Adult dose
Children over 12 years and adults: 0.5-1g (1/2-1 teaspoon, containing 375-750 IU of colecalciferol and 70-140 mg of calcium) once daily.
Child dose
Infants over 3 months and children under 12 years: For infants from 3 months to 2 years, 0.5g (1/2 teaspoon, containing 375 IU of colecalciferol and 70 mg of calcium) once daily.
Precautions
This medication should not be taken for a long time or in cases of mild renal failure without regular monitoring of calcium levels in urine and blood. If calcium levels exceed certain thresholds, the dosage should be reduced or temporarily discontinued. Those allergic to this medication or with poor kidney function, hypercalcemia, or certain endocrine conditions should not take it. During the course of this medication, do not take it concurrently with other vitamin D preparations, and adjust the dosing intervals with certain antibiotics, diuretics, iron supplements, etc. Patients with heart disease or kidney stones, as well as pregnant or lactating women, should consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Interactions
Drug interactions
Do not take alongside calcitriol or other vitamin D preparations. This includes cardiac glycosides, barbiturates, phenytoin, rifampicin, bisphosphonates, sodium fluoride, estramustine, iron preparations, zinc preparations, oral tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics, L-thyroxine, cholestyramine, orlistat, certain laxatives, corticosteroids, thiazide diuretics, loop diuretics (furosemide, torsemide).
Food interactions
Foods containing oxalic acid, such as spinach and rhubarb, as well as whole grain cereals containing phytic acid, may inhibit calcium absorption, so it is advisable to take this medication 2 hours after consuming such foods.
Storage
This medication must be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air or moisture from entering, and the storage temperature must be maintained at room temperature between 15°C and 25°C. This will ensure the safe preservation of the medication's efficacy.
