Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastritis (including reflux esophagitis) and prevention of Mendelson's syndrome
This medication is used to treat gastrointestinal diseases such as ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, and reflux esophagitis. It is also effective in preventing ulcers that can occur after surgery and in conditions requiring excessive gastric acid secretion, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Additionally, it aids in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is administered to prevent Mendelson's syndrome before anesthesia. In summary, this drug is used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal conditions.
Generally taken orally, 2 tablets twice a day before breakfast and before bedtime regardless of meals. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers: Administer 2 tablets twice a day or 4 tablets once daily before bedtime. 2) Reflux esophagitis: Take 2 tablets twice a day or 4 tablets once daily before bedtime for 8 weeks. 3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: As an initial dose, start with 2 tablets three times a day.
