Treatment of bacterial vaginosis (Haemophilus, Gardnerella, etc.)
This medication is used for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis, which includes vaginitis caused by various pathogens, such as Haemophilus, Gardnerella, non-specific bacteria, Corynebacterium, and anaerobic bacteria. Therefore, this drug helps improve the symptoms of vaginitis caused by multiple types of bacteria.
Insert about 5g into an applicator for vaginal application once to twice a day for 5 days. If using once a day, apply at bedtime.
This medication should not be used in certain patients. Individuals allergic to this drug, its components, or similar drugs should not take it. Also, this medication should not be administered to nursing women and children. Patients who have taken disulfiram within the last two weeks should not use this medication. Patients with severe liver disease should use this medication cautiously, as their metabolism may be slowed. Patients with central nervous system disorders or blood-related issues should also take caution while using this drug. Patients allergic to propylene glycol, which is included in this medication, should be particularly careful. While using this medication, allergic reactions may occur, such as skin rash, itching, dry mouth or skin, and heat sensation. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and changes in taste, and there may be effects on heart electrical activity. Decrease in blood cell count, symptoms of vaginal irritation, headaches, dizziness, confusion, as well as issues like difficulty urinating or symptoms of cystitis, and rashes around the eyes or nose have also been reported. If neurological symptoms or abnormal signs appear during treatment, use should be immediately discontinued and a physician consulted. Patients with vaginal candidiasis or a history of it should be cautious, as symptoms may worsen. During treatment, sexual intercourse should be avoided, and if any skin irritation occurs, treatment should be temporarily halted. Care should be taken to avoid exposing the treated area to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet light. This medication should only be used for the minimum necessary duration to prevent the development of resistant bacteria, and long-term use with other antibiotics may increase the risk of fungal infections. Alcohol intake should be avoided while using this medication. When taken with alcohol, side effects such as fever, flushing, and vomiting may occur. Additionally, if taken with anticoagulants like warfarin, blood coagulation times may be prolonged, necessitating frequent blood tests. Co-administration with lithium preparations can increase lithium levels leading to toxicity, so caution is needed. There may be interactions with other medications, so any ongoing medications should be disclosed. During pregnancy, this medication may affect the fetus, and it is advisable not to use it during the first three months of pregnancy. Women of childbearing potential should carefully consider the benefits and risks before using this medication. It is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication, as it may be secreted in breast milk. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children have not been sufficiently established, thus its use is not recommended. In case of overdose, vomiting or disturbances in sense of direction may occur, and there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment should be provided based on the symptoms. This medication is for external use only and should be kept away from the eyes. If it comes into contact with the eyes, they should be washed immediately and thoroughly. When storing, keep in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture, and it is best stored at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage can help maintain the efficacy of the medication for a longer period.
Urticaria
Erythematous rash, flushing, congestion, dryness of mouth, skin, vagina, or vulva, heat, itching, pain, joint pain, worsening of symptoms, gastrointestinal discomfort, constipation, coated tongue, glossitis, stomatitis, pancreatitis, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, taste abnormalities, loss of appetite, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, thirst, dry mouth, flattening of the T wave on electrocardiogram, reversible neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, vaginal discharge due to vaginal administration.
