This medication is used to relieve pain and muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. Common conditions include shoulder-arm syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It alleviates painful muscle spasms that occur with these conditions, helping improve muscle function and comfort in daily life. Therefore, this drug is effectively utilized to improve pain and muscle tension in the musculoskeletal system.
This medication is a sustained-release tablet and should be taken whole without crushing, splitting, or chewing. The recommended dosage is 1 tablet (75mg of eperisone hydrochloride) to be taken orally twice a day after meals. Adjustments may be made based on age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions or those with myasthenia gravis. Patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity or impaired liver function should exercise caution when using this medication. Rarely, serious allergic reactions or severe skin reactions may occur, so if symptoms such as redness, itching, hives, difficulty breathing, fever, blisters, or conjunctival injection appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. This medication can cause drowsiness or decreased concentration, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. When used in conjunction with other muscle relaxants, the risk of side effects may increase, so it is necessary to inform healthcare providers of any other medications being taken. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, the use of this medication may not be safe, and the benefits versus risks of treatment should be carefully considered. For breastfeeding individuals, it is advisable to avoid this medication; if it must be used, stopping breastfeeding is recommended.
