This medicine is used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is also effective in alleviating painful swelling and inflammation that occur after trauma or surgery. How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet (300 mg Dexibuprofen) 2 to 4 times daily by mouth. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg of Dexibuprofen per day.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than 3 alcoholic drinks daily, so consultation with a physician or pharmacist is necessary. This medication can be passed into breast milk and may cause serious side effects in infants, so breastfeeding should be either halted or the medication should be discontinued while using. Dizziness or fatigue may occur upon taking this medication, hence caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Pregnant women who are more than 6 months pregnant should not take this medication and women in the early stages of pregnancy or planning to become pregnant should consult with a healthcare professional before use. Mild side effects

Dyspepsia, abdominal bloating, heartburn, upper abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, discomfort in the stomach area, esophagitis, esophageal stricture, diverticulitis, nonspecific hemorrhagic colitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, dry mouth, stomatitis, erythema multiforme, hair loss, angioedema, rash, itching, purpura, eczema, photosensitivity reaction, rhinitis, bronchospasm, and visual disturbances such as blurred vision, hearing loss, tinnitus, dysgeusia, fatigue, drowsiness, headaches.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not use this medication concurrently with aspirin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high-dose (15 mg/week or more) methotrexate during treatment. Also, consult before taking corticosteroids, alcohol, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, or anticoagulants (such as warfarin).
