This medication is used for painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, such as cervical syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain.
This medication is a sustained-release tablet, so it should be taken whole without crushing, splitting, or chewing. Administer 1 tablet (75 mg of eperisone hydrochloride) orally following meals, twice a day. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or in patients with severe myasthenia gravis. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity and in those with impaired liver function due to the possibility of aggravated liver function. This medication can rarely cause allergic reactions or severe skin diseases; therefore, if symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing, fever, blisters, or eye congestion occur, use should be discontinued immediately and medical attention should be sought. Some patients may experience symptoms such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, and if these symptoms persist or worsen, consultation with a physician is recommended. During treatment with this medication, symptoms such as weakness, staggering, and drowsiness may occur, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Nursing mothers should avoid administration if possible; if unavoidable, breastfeeding should be suspended. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so caution is needed when using this medication in pediatric patients. Elderly patients may have diminished physical function, so dosage should be adjusted or used with caution. The risk of side effects may increase when this medication is used in combination with other similar muscle relaxants, so consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential when co-administering with other medications.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, shock and anaphylactic reactions, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), severe rash with fever, blisters, skin shedding, mucosal pain in the mouth/eyes, liver abnormalities (elevation of ALT, AST, ALP), symptoms of jaundice, anaphylaxis, angioedema
