Relief of itching and inflammation in corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases.
Corticosteroids are used for skin diseases accompanied by itching and inflammation. This medication reduces the inflammatory response in the skin and effectively alleviates itching. Therefore, it helps in the treatment of various skin conditions such as eczema and contact dermatitis. Patients can expect gradual improvement of symptoms with consistent use. This medication is very useful for alleviating the symptoms of several skin diseases.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area once daily, and gently rub until fully absorbed. Avoid occlusive dressing methods.
This medication should not be used in patients with various types of infections occurring in the skin, such as bacterial, fungal, viral infections, or infections induced by animals. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components should also avoid using it. It is advisable not to administer this medication to patients with eczematous otitis externa who have perforations in the ear, patients with ulcers on the skin, or those with severe burns or frostbite. It should also not be used in patients with perioral dermatitis, general acne, rosacea, or those experiencing itching around the anus or genitals, as well as in children under the age of 2. Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing mothers, children, and the elderly, particularly if there is an allergy to propylene glycol, which is included in this product. When using this medication, it is important to monitor for any worsening of skin infections or the emergence of new infections; if any signs of infection appear, use should be stopped immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Prolonged use may lead to skin thinning, pigmentation changes, or side effects like acne, so it is recommended to discontinue use as soon as symptoms improve. Additionally, when used extensively or with occlusive dressings, corticosteroids can be absorbed throughout the body and may affect hormone functions, necessitating regular check-ups. When using around the eyes, there is a risk of developing ocular diseases such as glaucoma or cataracts, so caution is advised; if vision becomes blurred or visual anomalies occur, immediate consultation with an ophthalmologist is required. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes or for protecting the skin after makeup or shaving. When using occlusive dressing methods, it is crucial to follow the doctor's instructions, and the affected area should be kept clean to reduce the risk of infection. Keep out of reach of children, and pregnant or nursing women should avoid using this medication for extended periods or in large quantities. For children, continuous use for more than 3 weeks is not recommended due to a larger skin area relative to body weight, which can lead to a higher risk of side effects. Elderly patients also have an increased risk of side effects and should be carefully monitored during use.
