Relief of muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders (cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder)
This medicine is used to relieve muscle pain and spasm symptoms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. It is particularly effective for symptoms such as cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder, and lower back pain. It helps relax muscles, reduce pain, and improve movement. Therefore, it is used to treat such musculoskeletal-related pain and muscle cramps.
This medicine is a sustained-release tablet and should be taken whole without crushing, splitting, or chewing. Adults should take 1 tablet (75 mg of eperisone hydrochloride) orally, 2 times daily after meals. Dosage may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.
This medicine should not be used in patients who are allergic to it or in those with myasthenia gravis. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the drug or those with liver dysfunction, as there is a risk of worsening liver function. Rarely, severe allergic reactions or serious skin abnormalities may occur, so if symptoms such as rash, itching, or difficulty breathing appear, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. While taking this medicine, symptoms such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dyspepsia, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and lethargy may occur, so it is advisable to consult a doctor if symptoms are severe. This medicine may cause drowsiness or decreased concentration, so avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery while taking it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully weigh the benefits and risks of using this medicine, and breastfeeding women are advised to avoid taking it if possible or to discontinue breastfeeding. Safety has not been fully established for children, so caution should be exercised when using it, and elderly patients may require dose adjustments due to diminished physiological function. Additionally, care should be taken not to use similar medications concurrently, as this may cause visual disturbances.
