This medication is used to treat essential hypertension. It is administered additionally to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with telmisartan, in order to manage blood pressure appropriately. This helps reduce the risk of complications due to hypertension and improves blood pressure control.

How to take

Adult dose

In patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with telmisartan, this medication should be taken once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to adjust the dosage of each component individually before switching to this medication, as the dosages of its fixed components are set. For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, no dosage adjustment is necessary. In patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min), this medication should not be administered.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious risks to the fetus and newborn, particularly during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Those allergic to any components contained in this medication or with specific liver or kidney diseases should not take it. Particular caution is necessary when using this medication in the elderly or patients with abnormal potassium levels or weakened liver function. Since this medication has a blood pressure-lowering effect, side effects such as dizziness and hypotension may occur, and caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.
