Improvement of male-pattern baldness
This medication is used for the treatment of male-pattern baldness, specifically androgenetic alopecia. Male-pattern baldness is a condition caused by genetic factors and the influence of male hormones, requiring continuous treatment. This medicine helps to slow the progression of hair loss and promotes hair growth, improving baldness symptoms. Pharmacists will provide guidance on precautions, ensuring safe usage, and with consistent treatment, the symptoms of baldness can be effectively improved.
After completely drying the hair and scalp, apply 0.5 to 1 mL of this medication twice daily (morning and evening), for at least 4 months, only to the affected area. Do not exceed a total daily dosage of 2 mL.
This medication should not be used by female patients in concentrations of 5% or by children under 18 years old, as well as pregnant or nursing women. Individuals who have had allergic reactions to this medication or have heart diseases should avoid using it. If hair loss is sudden and localized, if there is scalp inflammation or irritation, this medication should not be used. Caution is also needed if you are using other scalp medications or have shaved your scalp. During the course of this treatment, do not use it in conjunction with topical corticosteroids, retinoids, petroleum jelly, or any drugs that enhance skin absorption. Be particularly cautious if you are taking vasodilators, as symptoms of orthostatic hypotension may worsen. Elderly individuals aged 55 and older, or those with edema or thyroid function issues should consult a physician or pharmacist before using this medication. If during use there is itching, rash, headache, dizziness, cardiac symptoms, or gastrointestinal issues, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Notably, hair loss may temporarily increase during the initial use, and if this persists for more than two weeks, consultation is necessary. Excess absorption of this medication may affect the heart or blood pressure; therefore, adhere to the prescribed dosage and consult a professional before use. If there are wounds or inflammation on the scalp, absorption may increase, heightening the risk of side effects. If a dose is forgotten, do not make up for it and take the next dose as scheduled. This medication is not effective for hair loss or skin diseases caused by specific reasons, so it should be used according to its purpose. In cases of overdose, serious side effects such as low blood pressure and increased heart rate may occur, consult a healthcare professional immediately, and treatment with diuretics or heart medications may be necessary. This medication is for external use only and should not be applied to areas other than the scalp. Avoid using occlusive dressings, and take care to avoid contact with the eyes or open wounds. After application, wash your hands thoroughly, and use hairstyling products only after this medication has completely dried. Ensure good air circulation to the scalp and avoid drying with a hairdryer. This medication is flammable, so store it away from flames or heat sources, and keep it out of reach of children. It is safest to store it in its original container sealed.
Urticaria, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mouth/eye mucosa, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attacks, abnormal breathing accompanied by coughing and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output, severe swelling throughout the body, abnormal blood pressure.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
Do not use this medication in conjunction with other scalp treatments. Do not use with topical corticosteroids, retinoids, petroleum jelly, or dithranol. Do not use with drugs that enhance dermal absorption. Avoid using with vasodilators like guanethidine.
This medication should be stored in a special container to protect it from light and air, and it is safest to keep it at room temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way will help maintain the medication's effectiveness for a longer time.
