Relief of symptoms of knee osteoarthritis and adhesive capsulitis.
This medication is used for knee osteoarthritis and adhesive capsulitis. Both conditions help to relieve joint inflammation and pain, making daily life more comfortable for the patient. Osteoarthritis is a chronic condition caused by damage to the joint cartilage, while adhesive capsulitis is an inflammatory condition around the shoulder joint. This drug is effective in improving symptoms and aiding in functional recovery from these joint disorders.
Usually, administer 1 syringe once a week for 3 consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint, but the frequency may be adjusted according to the symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to its components. Additionally, patients who are allergic to other medications or have liver dysfunction or a history of liver disease should use it with caution. Administration should also be done carefully in cases where there are skin diseases or infections at the injection site, as this drug is administered directly into the joint. Serious side effects such as shock may occur while using this medication, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, stop administration immediately and receive appropriate treatment. Also, symptoms of allergy such as swelling around the face or eyes, rash, hives, and itching may occur; if these symptoms appear, stop administration and seek treatment. The injected joint area may experience temporary pain, swelling, redness, warmth, or a sensation of pressure, so appropriate measures should be taken if these symptoms occur. Occasionally, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and fever may also appear. If there is severe inflammation in the joint, this medication may worsen the inflammation, so it is recommended to use it after the inflammation has subsided. After administration, stabilizing the joint area is helpful. If the medication leaks outside the joint cavity, there is a risk of causing pain, so it must be injected precisely into the joint cavity. During the injection, strict aseptic conditions must be maintained, and if symptoms do not improve, it should only be administered up to three times and then discontinued. If there is a considerable amount of joint fluid, it is advisable to aspirate the fluid as needed. This drug should not be administered intravenously and is not suitable for use in the eyes. A syringe needle of about 22-23 gauge size is preferred. Caution is needed as this medication may form precipitate when used with certain antiseptics. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the potential risks and benefits of using this medication, and it is advisable to avoid administration during breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so it should only be used cautiously when absolutely necessary. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, so they should use it with greater caution.
