Precautions

This drug is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used to lower blood pressure and reduce heart burden. This medication should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity, nursing women, those with severe liver dysfunction, patients with severe aortic stenosis, and those in shock. Caution is required when administering to patients with severe hypotension, those requiring dialysis due to renal failure, elderly patients, and women who are pregnant or possibly pregnant. While taking this medication, side effects such as flushing, fatigue, edema, palpitations, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, abdominal pain, and nausea may commonly occur. Rarely, various abnormal reactions such as hypotension, vasculitis, peripheral neuropathy, erectile dysfunction, gynecomastia, dry mouth, pancreatitis, hepatitis, and skin rash have been reported. In patients with heart failure or impaired liver function, the effects and side effects of this drug should be observed closely during administration. This medication slowly lowers blood pressure; thus, its effectiveness in emergency situations may be limited. It is known not to significantly affect driving or machine operation capabilities during treatment with this drug. Interactions may occur when combined with other medications, especially some antibiotics, antihypertensives, grapefruit juice, and certain immunosuppressants, necessitating caution. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, so it should be administered only in special cases and use during breastfeeding is not recommended. It is recommended for use in children aged 6 years and older; safety and efficacy have not been confirmed in children under 6 years. In case of overdose, severe hypotension and heart function deterioration may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment; vasoconstrictors or calcium gluconate administration may be helpful. As this drug is metabolized in the liver, patients with impaired liver function need dose adjustment and careful observation.
