This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy. It helps in maintaining heart and vascular health by stabilizing blood pressure.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily, with or without food, and take with a small amount of water. Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg is prescribed for blood pressure reduction if applicable. No dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. For patients with liver impairment without cholestasis, the maximum dosage of Valsartan is 80 mg daily.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, and should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with hypersensitivity to any ingredient in this medication, certain liver diseases, highly impaired kidney function, and pregnant women should not take this medication.
