This medication is used for the treatment of epithelial disorders of the conjunctiva caused by endogenous diseases such as Sjögren's syndrome, Stevens-Johnson syndrome (mucocutaneous syndrome), and dry eye syndrome, as well as exogenous epithelial disorders of the conjunctiva due to surgery, drug-induced infections, trauma, and contact lens wear.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Both the 0.1% and 0.3% formulations are administered as 1 drop, 5 to 6 times a day. Adjust dosage as appropriate depending on symptoms. Usually, the 0.1% formulation is administered, and if the effect is insufficient in severe diseases, the 0.3% formulation may be given. Dispose of any remaining solution and container immediately after instillation. (Single use)

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have allergic reactions to protein-based drugs or to the components of this medication. During use, symptoms such as eyelid itching, eye irritation, conjunctivitis, eye congestion, corneal disturbances, and a foreign body sensation in the eye may occur, and rarely, discharge or eye pain may develop. If these symptoms occur, discontinue the medication and seek appropriate treatment. Also, hypersensitivity reactions such as eyelid inflammation or dermatitis may occur, and if such symptoms arise, discontinue use and seek treatment. This medication may have increased adverse reactions when used concurrently with steroids, dry eye treatments, antimicrobials, glaucoma treatments, antihistamines, cataract treatments, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so caution should be exercised. This medication should not be used simultaneously with other eye medications. If it is necessary to use multiple eye drops, apply the other drops and then use this medication approximately 30 minutes later. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and care should be taken to avoid contact of the container tip with the eyelids or eyelashes. Otherwise, the medication may become contaminated with discharge or bacteria. The preservative benzalkonium chloride can adhere to soft lenses; therefore, do not use while wearing lenses, and lenses can only be worn at least 15 minutes after administration. Single-use products should be used immediately after opening, and any remaining solution should be discarded. At first use, release 1-2 drops to remove container fragments. Keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool place. Do not transfer the medication to another container, and avoid sharing to prevent contamination.
