This medication is primarily used to lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension. It also helps prevent and treat kidney disease caused by hypertension, particularly in patients with type 2 diabetes. Therefore, it is effective in protecting kidney health related to hypertension. This medication aids in blood pressure control and simultaneous improvement of kidney function, maintaining the overall health of the patient. It is used for the treatment of hypertension and associated kidney disease.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally once daily at the same time, regardless of meals, at a dose of 50 mg. This medication can cause severe harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Therefore, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not take this medication. Patients with a known allergy to this medication, severely impaired liver function, certain hereditary diseases, or specific heart conditions should not be administered this medication. Elderly patients, those with impaired kidney function, and patients with hyperkalemia should use this medication with caution, as there is a risk of excessively low blood pressure or worsening kidney function, necessitating regular monitoring. Dizziness or a rapid drop in blood pressure may occur while taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. This medication may increase potassium levels; therefore, it should not be taken with potassium supplements or medications containing potassium. Patients at risk for hyperkalemia should have their serum potassium levels monitored regularly. Occasionally, allergic reactions such as skin rashes, breathing difficulties, and swelling of the face or lips may occur. If such symptoms arise, the patient should inform a doctor immediately. This medication can affect kidney function, so patients with kidney disease or impaired kidney function should consult a doctor before taking it and undergo regular kidney function tests during treatment. If taken with other blood pressure medications or specific drugs, there may be interactions, so patients must inform their doctor or pharmacist about all medications they are taking. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised against using this medication; if unavoidable, caution should be exercised after consulting a specialist. Children, especially those under 6 years of age or those with significantly impaired kidney function, have not had their safety and efficacy confirmed with this medication, and it should not be administered. Overdose may result in symptoms such as hypotension and bradycardia, necessitating immediate medical attention.
