This medication is used for the disinfection of torn wounds, burns, and traumatic lesions. It is also effective for disinfecting infected skin areas such as ulcers and abscesses. It plays an important role in safely keeping wound areas clean.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area multiple times a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to its components. Patients with thyroid dysfunction, especially those with nodular goiter or Hashimoto's thyroiditis, should avoid this medication. It is also not safe to administer to patients with poor kidney function or to newborns and infants under 6 months of age. Patients who have herpetic dermatitis or are undergoing radioactive iodine treatment should not use this medication. Caution is advised for severely ill patients or those with a history of thyroid disease or renal failure. Rarely, allergic reactions or skin irritation, rash, and itching may occur, and if symptoms are severe, use should be discontinued. Using large amounts can lead to side effects such as electrolyte imbalance, decreased kidney function, and metabolic acidosis. Regular examination is necessary due to potential changes in thyroid function with long-term or excessive use. This medication may affect thyroid diagnostic tests, so a certain period gap should be maintained between tests and administration. If severe allergic symptoms such as sudden itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing occur after using this medication, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication may interact with other drugs, so patients undergoing lithium treatment should avoid regular use. When using, clean and disinfect the affected area, and do not mix this medication with other formulations. Anaphylactic symptoms due to hypersensitivity (difficulty breathing, flushing, hives), itching, swelling, chest tightness, pallor, cold extremities, cold sweat, difficulty in breathing due to severe symptoms, extensive injuries or edema from burns, difficulty breathing due to pulmonary edema, markedly reduced urine output due to kidney failure, edema accompanied by high blood pressure, kidney dysfunction, skin ulcers, severe skin reactions (rash, blisters, peeling skin)

Mild side effects

Skin pain, itching, irritation, rash, redness, dermatitis, burning sensation, skin ulcers, contact dermatitis, skin discoloration, impaired wound healing, electrolyte and serum osmotic pressure disorders, metabolic acidosis, elevated serum thyroid-stimulating hormone levels, decreased T₄ and T₃, increased serum iodinated protein, metallic taste, increased salivation, burning sensation and pain in the throat and mouth, skin reactions, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, iodine toxicity, upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting
