Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastritis (reflux esophagitis, etc.)
This medication is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and reflux esophagitis. It is also effective in preventing Mendelson's syndrome before anesthesia and treating postoperative ulcers. It helps with gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used to address various gastrointestinal ailments.
Typically, 1 tablet is taken orally twice a day, regardless of meals, in the morning and before bedtime. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers 1 tablet twice a day or 2 tablets once a day before bedtime. In particular, for patients with duodenal ulcers, taking 2 tablets twice a day in the morning and before bedtime can achieve a higher treatment rate. The dosage is the same for prophylactic therapy to prevent ulcers from NSAID use or long-term NSAID use. Usually, conditions caused by NSAID use recover within 8 weeks, but healing periods may vary depending on the patient. For patients with recurrent ulcers who have shown excellent results with short-term therapy, maintenance therapy of 1 tablet once a day before bedtime is recommended. 2) Reflux esophagitis 1 tablet twice a day for 8 weeks, or 2 tablets once a day before bedtime. For severe reflux esophagitis, the dose can be increased to 2 tablets four times a day. 3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Start with an initial dose of 1 tablet three times a day, and it can be increased as needed. For severe conditions, doctors may prescribe up to 6 g of ranitidine daily under their guidance. 4) Peptic ulcer, acute stress ulcer, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding due to acute mucosal lesions Once oral administration is possible, switch from injection to oral administration and take 1 tablet twice a day. 5) Pre-anesthesia (prevention of Mendelson’s syndrome) Administer 1 tablet 2 hours before anesthesia induction. In this case, it is also beneficial to take 1 tablet the night before surgery.
