Improvement of symptoms and walking ability in lumbar spinal stenosis, and of ischemic symptoms in Buerger's disease
This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and cold sensation caused by occlusive thromboangiitis (Buerger's disease) and to improve leg pain, numbness, and decreased walking ability due to acquired lumbar spinal stenosis.
1. For improvement of ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness caused by thromboangiitis obliterans (Buerger disease), the usual adult dose is 2 tablets orally 3 times daily. 2. For improvement of subjective symptoms (lower-limb pain and numbness) and walking ability due to acquired lumbar spinal stenosis (in patients with a normal SLR test and bilateral intermittent claudication), the usual adult dose is 1 tablet orally 3 times daily. The dose may be adjusted according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with genetic disorders that prevent the digestion of lactose. It should be used cautiously in patients with a tendency to bleed or those taking antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, or anticoagulants. When using this medication, there may be hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash or itching; if these symptoms occur, use should be discontinued immediately. Bleeding may occur rarely, so if bleeding symptoms appear, discontinue use and consult a physician. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and loss of appetite may occur, so caution is necessary. Hepatic function abnormalities may occur, and regular monitoring, such as liver function tests, is needed. Cardiovascular symptoms such as palpitations or hypotension may occur, so symptoms should be closely observed. Headaches, facial flushing, dizziness, and a feeling of warmth may also occur. Patients with lumbar spinal stenosis should continuously monitor symptoms and decide whether to continue medication. The safety of use during pregnancy has not been established, and uterine contraction effects were reported in animal studies, so use should be avoided in pregnant women. Safety has not been established in children; therefore, there is no experience of use in this population. Elderly patients may have decreased body function, so caution is needed in adjusting dosage. In healthy adults, administration of high doses may temporarily lower blood pressure, so caution is needed.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air and moisture. It is best to maintain the storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius.
