Improvement of esophageal reflux and gastrointestinal abnormalities (such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia), treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and pediatric gastrointestinal disorders.
This medicine helps alleviate gastrointestinal symptoms associated with esophageal reflux and hiatal hernia, gastritis, duodenitis, and gastric duodenal ulcers, such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting. It also improves abdominal pain and discomfort caused by irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is used to manage symptoms like constipation or diarrhea due to habitual vomiting and non-infectious bowel dysfunction. By stabilizing gastrointestinal function and alleviating symptoms, this medicine contributes to improving the quality of life of patients. Therefore, it is effectively used for the improvement of various gastrointestinal symptoms and disorders.
As trimebutine maleate, take 100-200 mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust the dosage according to age and symptoms.
This medication contains lactose, so individuals with genetic disorders that prevent lactose digestion should not take this medication. While taking this medication, it may rarely cause constipation, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, or a feeling of numbness in the mouth due to its effects on the gastrointestinal system. Additionally, symptoms of rapid heartbeat may occur rarely, so caution is advised. Psychologically, symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may occur, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. There may be a rare increase in liver enzymes, so individuals with existing liver health issues should consult a doctor. Allergic reactions, such as skin rashes, may occur, and if any of these symptoms arise, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not clearly established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use it if the benefits outweigh the risks. Women who are breastfeeding should avoid this medication unless absolutely necessary, and if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
