This medication is used for essential hypertension that is inadequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning) if possible.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, and its administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients, pregnant or possibly pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and patients with severe renal or liver impairment should not take this medication. When using this medication for hypertension treatment, it is important to check and correct any sodium or fluid deficiency in the body beforehand. If symptoms of hypotension occur while taking this medication, lie down immediately and receive medical treatment if necessary. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking other medications that may increase potassium levels should frequently monitor potassium levels and exercise caution. Patients with renal vascular problems or those who have undergone kidney transplantation may also be affected in kidney function while taking this medication, so caution is required. If symptoms of angioedema such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occur while taking this medication, discontinue it immediately and do not take it again. Patients with heart failure or those who had a myocardial infarction should periodically check their kidney function and blood pressure before and during the use of this medication. Patients with acute myocardial infarction should proceed with caution as angina symptoms may worsen while taking this medication. Taking this medication with other drugs that affect the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system may increase the risk of hypotension, hyperkalemia, and worsening renal function, so it is advisable not to take them together. Caution should be exercised as dizziness or fatigue may occur when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac dysfunction may occur; therefore, it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage, and if there are any abnormal symptoms, consult healthcare providers immediately. It is not recommended to use this medication in patients under 18 years of age due to unestablished safety and efficacy. For the elderly, a similar dose to that of an adult is recommended, but their condition should be monitored closely. Regular liver function tests and blood tests during the use of this medication can be beneficial, and potential adverse reactions may include headache, dizziness, swelling, and skin rash.
