Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medicine is 1 tablet (0.5mg) once daily. Swallow this medicine whole without chewing or splitting it. This medicine may be taken with or without food. No dose adjustment is necessary in patients with renal impairment or older patients. The recommended dose of this medicine in patients with hepatic impairment has not been established because no data are available on its administration to these patients.

This medication must not be handled by women, especially those who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This is because the medication can be absorbed through the skin and may affect the development of male fetal genitals. Children should also be cautious not to touch broken or damaged pieces of this medication. Women, children under 18 years of age, and those with a known allergy to this medication or similar components should not use it. Men planning to conceive, those with urinary issues, and patients with liver dysfunction should take this medication only under a doctor's careful consideration. Caution is also advised when taking this medication with drugs that inhibit specific liver metabolic enzymes. Changes in sexual function may occur during the use of this medication, with reports of erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and ejaculation disorders. These symptoms may persist even after discontinuation of the medication, so caution is advised. This medication may affect the outcomes of tests related to prostate cancer, therefore regular prostate examinations and blood tests are necessary before and during treatment. Interpretation of test results must be approached with caution, as PSA levels in the blood may decrease. Donating blood is discouraged during treatment, and one should refrain from blood donations for at least six months after stopping the medication. This medication can be safely used in the elderly; however, its effectiveness for treating male pattern baldness has only been proven in adult males under 50 years of age. In case of overdose, there are no specific antidotes, so immediate medical attention should be sought if symptoms occur. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container to prevent deterioration and misuse. The effects on driving or operating machinery are not known. Lastly, while no significant interactions have been reported with this medication when taken with various other drugs, caution may be necessary with certain medications, so consulting a doctor or pharmacist is recommended.
