In adults, initiate treatment with 25mg of naftopidil once daily. If the effect is inadequate, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and administer orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms; however, the maximum daily dose is 75mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to its components. Additionally, as it contains lactose, individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use it. In patients with impaired liver function, caution should be exercised, as blood concentration may increase. There is limited experience with the use of this medication in patients with severe heart or cerebrovascular issues, so caution is warranted. Older adults may also have reduced liver function, so monitoring is required as blood concentration may increase. Patients taking other medications that lower blood pressure, especially PDE5 inhibitors, should be careful as concomitant use may worsen blood pressure reduction. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience exacerbation of symptoms while using this medication. Adverse effects such as dizziness, giddiness, hypotension, and discomfort in the upper abdomen may occur with this medication. Serious adverse reactions such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, and syncope may also occur, so immediate medical consultation is necessary if such symptoms appear. In the case of overdose, blood pressure may drop too low, so it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed doses. Dizziness due to orthostatic hypotension may occur, so caution is advised when getting up; move slowly. Before taking this medication, ensure to check the use of any antihypertensive medications, and if taken together, monitor blood pressure changes closely. It should be stored out of the reach of children, and patients should be instructed to take the tablets out of the packaging before swallowing. Swallowing the tablets while still in the packaging can pose a risk of esophageal injury. This medication is not a cause treatment but is for symptom relief, so if it is not effective, other treatment methods should be considered. There have been reports of complications related to the eyes during surgery, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers if surgery is planned. It is important to consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur while taking this medication.
