Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to chlorhexidine or isopropanol. It is particularly important not to use this medication for disinfecting surgical instruments. Direct use on critical areas such as the brain, spinal cord, eyes, and ears should be avoided as it may cause hearing damage or neurological disorders. It is best not to use it on mucosal areas, especially the genital mucosa. It is safe not to use this medication on infants younger than 2 months. Patients with a history of allergies to other drugs or a family history of allergic diseases such as asthma should use this medication with caution. Severe allergic reactions such as shock may rarely occur when using this medication, so symptoms should be monitored closely. If symptoms such as nausea, discomfort, cold sweat, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or skin redness occur, use should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment received. If allergic symptoms such as skin rash or urticaria appear, or if irritation is severe, use should also be stopped. This medication may cause photosensitivity, so caution is needed as the skin may become sensitive to light. Before use, it is essential to confirm the allergy history concerning chlorhexidine and whether the patient has a drug allergy constitution. Some patients who experienced shock from this medication were found to have unusual antibodies, so it should be used with caution. If this medication is ingested in large quantities, one must go to the hospital immediately, also considering the alcohol content. This medication is for external use only and should not be ingested or injected. If ingested accidentally, the stomach should be cleaned out using milk, eggs, gelatin, etc., and appropriate treatment should be received. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if it does get into the eyes, they should be rinsed thoroughly with clean water immediately.
