This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness resulting from chronic arterial occlusive disease. It is also effective in preventing recurrence after cerebral infarction. Therefore, it helps alleviate the symptoms of vascular-related diseases and reduce the risk of recurrence.

How to take

Adult dose

For silostazol, the usual adult dosage is 200 mg orally once daily. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.

Precautions

This drug may increase heart rate, so careful observation for symptoms of angina is necessary. It should not be used in patients with bleeding or at high risk of bleeding, and patients with heart failure should avoid this medication as it may worsen their symptoms. It is also not administered to patients with a history of allergic reactions to this drug and to pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Patients taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, women during menstruation, patients with cardiovascular diseases, severe renal or liver dysfunction, diabetes patients, and hypertension patients should be cautious when using this medication.
