Precautions

This medication may increase heart rate and worsen angina symptoms; therefore, symptoms such as chest pain should be closely monitored. It should not be administered to patients at risk of bleeding or those with recent hemorrhagic stroke or active peptic ulcers. Patients with congestive heart failure, those who have had allergic reactions to this medication, pregnant or nursing women should also avoid its use. This medication may cause side effects such as headaches, diarrhea, palpitations, joint pain, and chest discomfort, and treatment should be stopped immediately if severe bleeding or blood abnormalities occur. For patients with cerebral infarction, administration should begin after stabilization of symptoms, with particular attention paid to blood pressure control. Awareness is needed as dizziness may occur when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medication with food may increase blood concentration and the risk of side effects; therefore, it is recommended to take it on an empty stomach, allowing at least a 3-hour interval between meals and medication. Since this medication is metabolized in the liver, interactions may occur when taken with certain drugs, and consultation with a physician or pharmacist about concomitant medication is essential.
