Typically, 200 mg is taken orally once a day by adults. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.

Precautions

This medication may increase heart rate and may induce symptoms of angina pectoris, so careful monitoring for signs of angina, such as chest pain, is necessary. It should not be used in patients with a risk of bleeding or those with recent hemorrhagic stroke, peptic ulcer, or uncontrolled hypertension. Patients with congestive heart failure, those previously allergic to this medication, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should also avoid it. Caution is advised for patients taking anticoagulants, antiplatelets, thrombolytics, women during menstruation, those with severe renal or hepatic failure, and diabetic patients. Potential side effects include headaches, diarrhea, palpitations, joint pain, and chest discomfort, and serious reactions such as severe bleeding, blood abnormalities, interstitial pneumonia, and heart problems may occur; immediate consultation with a physician is necessary in case of abnormal symptoms. Dizziness may occur upon taking this medication, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. If taken with food, the drug concentration may increase, raising the risk of side effects; it is recommended to take it on an empty stomach and maintain a gap of more than 3 hours between meals and the dose. Since this drug is primarily metabolized in the liver, caution is needed when taken with medications that inhibit liver metabolic enzymes, as drug concentration may increase. Pregnant women and those who could become pregnant should not take this medication due to potential effects on the fetus, and breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding. The safety for children and newborns has not been established, so caution is necessary. The elderly may have impaired physical function, requiring careful dose adjustments. In case of overdose, symptoms may include headache, diarrhea, hypotension, tachycardia, and arrhythmia; immediate medical attention is necessary for appropriate treatment.
