Improvement of chronic arterial occlusion (ulcers, pain) and prevention of cerebrovascular accident recurrence
This medication helps improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness due to chronic arterial occlusion, especially in patients with Buerger's disease, atherosclerotic occlusive disease, and diabetic peripheral vascular disease. It is also used to prevent recurrence after a cerebrovascular accident, maintaining the patient's health.
The adult dosage is 200 mg once daily orally. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.
This drug can increase pulse rate and may induce symptoms of angina; therefore, careful attention should be paid to any symptoms of angina such as chest pain. It should not be used in patients at high risk of bleeding or those who have had recent bleeding disorders, and should be avoided by patients with congestive heart failure, those with a history of allergic reactions to this drug, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients taking medications that increase the risk of bleeding, such as anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents, women who are menstruating, patients with heart disease, and those with severe kidney or liver dysfunction should use this drug cautiously. While taking this drug, side effects such as headaches, diarrhea, palpitations, joint pain, and chest discomfort may occur; if any unusual symptoms arise, immediate consultation with medical personnel is advised. In particular, if symptoms of bleeding or early signs of blood diseases appear, stop taking the medication and inform the hospital immediately. This drug may cause dizziness, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medication with food may increase blood concentration and the risk of side effects. Therefore, it is advisable to take it on an empty stomach and maintain a gap of over 3 hours between meals and administration. Patients with impaired liver or kidney function may experience increased drug concentration, so dosage adjustment and caution are necessary. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should not take it as it may affect the fetus, and breastfeeding women should also discontinue breastfeeding. Children and the elderly may have different bodily functions, so special care is needed when taking this medication. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headaches, diarrhea, hypotension, tachycardia, and arrhythmias may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment. This drug may interact with other medications, so if there are any concomitant medications, it should be communicated to medical personnel.
