This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness caused by chronic arterial occlusive disease, Buerger's disease, atherosclerosis, and diabetic peripheral vascular disease. It also helps in preventing recurrence of cerebral infarction after its onset. By improving blood circulation and ischemic symptoms, it contributes to alleviating the patient's symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

For silostazol, the usual adult dose is 200mg orally once a day. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.

Precautions

This medication may increase heart rate, which could pose a risk of angina symptoms, so it is essential to closely monitor symptoms such as chest pain. It should not be used in patients with a risk of bleeding or those who have recently suffered from a bleeding disorder or surgery. It is also not recommended for patients with heart failure symptoms. Patients with a history of allergic reactions to this medication, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should not take this medication. Patients on anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, etc., need to use it carefully as it may increase the risk of bleeding. Women during menstruation should also be cautious due to the risk of bleeding.
