This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and cold feelings caused by chronic arterial occlusive diseases like Buerger's disease, atherosclerosis, and diabetic peripheral vascular disease. It is also effective in preventing the recurrence of cerebral infarction after it occurs. Therefore, it helps improve the symptoms of vascular-related diseases and prevent the recurrence of cerebral infarction.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, an adult is to take 200 mg orally once a day. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.

Precautions

This drug may increase heart rate, which could increase the risk of angina symptoms; therefore, symptoms such as chest pain should be monitored carefully. It should not be administered to patients at risk of bleeding or who have recently suffered a hemorrhagic stroke or undergone surgery, nor to patients with heart failure, those who have had allergic reactions to this medication, or pregnant or breastfeeding women. Patients taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents, women menstruating, patients with heart disease, those with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, and diabetic patients should use this drug cautiously. This medication can cause side effects such as headaches, diarrhea, palpitations, joint pain, and chest discomfort, and serious adverse events such as severe bleeding, hematologic abnormalities, pneumonia, and heart issues may occur; therefore, if any abnormal symptoms arise, medical personnel should be notified immediately. This drug should be started after symptoms are stabilized in patients with cerebral infarction, blood pressure must be well controlled, and if there are symptoms of bleeding or hematological disorders, prompt reporting is required. Dizziness may occur, thus caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medication with food may increase drug concentration and the risk of side effects, so it is advisable to take it on an empty stomach; special caution should be taken after consuming a high-fat meal. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so care must be taken regarding drug interactions, as concurrent use with certain medications can alter blood concentration, and it should be avoided with grapefruit juice. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication, and if breastfeeding, they should discontinue nursing. Safety has not been established in children or infants, so caution is needed for their use. Elderly patients may have decreased body function, so careful dose adjustment is necessary. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as headache, diarrhea, hypotension, tachycardia, and cardiac arrhythmias may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought.
