This medication helps improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and cold sensation caused by chronic arterial occlusive disease, Burger's disease, occlusive atherosclerosis, and diabetic peripheral vascular disease. It also plays a role in preventing recurrence after the onset of cerebral infarction (excluding cardiogenic cerebral embolism). Therefore, it is used to maintain the health of peripheral and cerebral blood vessels and alleviate symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

For an adult, the usual dose is 200mg once daily taken orally. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.

Precautions

This medication may increase heart rate, posing a risk of angina symptoms; hence, careful observation for symptoms like chest pain is required. It should not be used in patients at risk of bleeding or those with recent hemorrhagic stroke or gastrointestinal bleeding. Patients with congestive heart failure, known allergies to this medication, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and nursing mothers should also avoid taking it. Patients on anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, menstruating women, and those with coronary artery stenosis should be administered with caution, paying attention to bleeding risks and cardiovascular side effects. Caution is needed when administering to patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment, uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes, or those with arrhythmias. This medication may cause various side effects such as headaches, diarrhea, palpitations, and joint swelling. If severe bleeding or blood abnormalities occur, treatment should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought. During treatment, blood pressure and heart status should be regularly monitored, and rapid communication with healthcare professionals is necessary upon noticing early signs of bleeding or blood disorders. This medication can cause dizziness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Taking it with food may increase drug concentration and side effects, so it is best taken on an empty stomach and avoided after high-fat meals. Since this medication is metabolized in the liver, the blood concentration may increase when taken with specific drugs, necessitating dosage adjustment or caution depending on the concomitant medications. Pregnant or nursing mothers should not use this medication as harmful effects on the fetus have been reported in animal experiments. Safety for children or neonates has not been established, thus caution in use is advised. Elderly patients may have reduced bodily functions, necessitating careful dosage adjustment. In cases of overdose, symptoms may include headache, diarrhea, hypotension, and arrhythmia, and immediate medical treatment is needed.
