This medication is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension. Additionally, it helps reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and death from cardiovascular diseases in high-risk patients who cannot use ACE inhibitors, such as those over the age of 55 with a history of coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, stroke, or organ damage due to diabetes. Therefore, this drug is effectively used for blood pressure control and the reduction of cardiovascular disease-related risks.
