This medication is used for inflammatory joint diseases such as chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also alleviates painful swelling or inflammation resulting from trauma and postoperative conditions, and is used as an adjunct in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. This medication helps to reduce inflammation and relieve pain, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of patients.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 300 mg of dexibuprofen orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg of dexibuprofen per day.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily; therefore, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential. It may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so patients with a history of heart disease or stroke, or those with risk factors, should use it cautiously and consult healthcare professionals immediately if cardiovascular symptoms arise. This medication can cause serious gastrointestinal side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation; thus, it should be used with caution in the elderly or those with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, and immediate evaluation and treatment are required if gastrointestinal symptoms occur during treatment. Patients with gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney disorders, heart failure, or hypertension should not take this medication. Combining it with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may increase the risk of gastrointestinal side effects, so such combinations should be avoided, and it may interact with certain medications, hence consultation with healthcare professionals about concurrent medications is necessary. This medication can be transmitted through breast milk and may cause serious adverse reactions in infants; therefore, breastfeeding should be discontinued or the medication should not be taken while nursing. Dizziness or fatigue may occur during treatment, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery, and headaches may occur with prolonged high-dose use. Patients with blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney disorders, hypertension, heart failure, history of hypersensitivity, etc., must consult healthcare professionals before use, and special care is necessary for the elderly and children. If symptoms of shock, blood disorders, gastrointestinal disturbances, skin rashes, hypersensitivity, liver dysfunction, respiratory issues, neurological issues, kidney dysfunction, or cardiovascular problems occur, discontinue use and consult healthcare professionals immediately. This medication should be used at the minimum effective dose for the shortest duration and regular blood tests as well as liver and kidney function tests are necessary for prolonged use. Using this medication after the 20th week of pregnancy may cause renal dysfunction in the fetus and oligohydramnios; therefore, pregnant women must consult healthcare professionals and may require a prenatal ultrasound to assess amniotic fluid.
