Precautions

This medication may cause severe problems for the fetus or newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Therefore, it should not be used by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. People with allergies to this drug's active ingredients or similar drug classes, patients with severe liver impairment, or those with significant heart issues should avoid use. Patients with liver, gastrointestinal, or kidney issues should use this medication with caution, especially the elderly or those with reduced kidney function, as extra attention is required. During use, side effects like dizziness or swelling might occur; in severe cases, symptoms like fainting or heart-related irregularities can arise, and if severe symptoms occur, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, patients with hypotension or those who are dehydrated must confirm their condition prior to use and adjust dosage as necessary. There is a risk of elevated blood potassium levels, so when taking potassium supplements or foods high in potassium, or other medications that can increase potassium, routine blood tests should monitor potassium levels. Using this medication during pregnancy can cause severe side effects for the fetus, so if pregnancy is confirmed, usage should be stopped immediately. It is also advisable for nursing mothers to avoid using this medication. This medication may interact with other drugs; hence, any medications currently being used should be reported to healthcare professionals, particularly when taken with specific heart medications, diuretics, lithium, or warfarin. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. It is safest to avoid such activities if symptoms develop. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension or heart issues may develop, so it is critical to visit a healthcare facility immediately for appropriate treatment and to avoid self-treating or abruptly discontinuing use.
