Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used to assist in blood sugar control for patients with type 2 diabetes by complementing dietary and exercise therapy. It can be used alone or in combination with other medications, effectively improving blood sugar levels. This medication facilitates blood sugar management, aiding in diabetes treatment.
The recommended dose of this medication is 5mg once daily. It can be administered regardless of meals.
This medication should not be used by patients who have allergic reactions to the active ingredient or any other components. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution is required when used with other medications that can induce hypoglycemia. Particularly, when used in combination with insulin or sulfonylurea drugs, the risk of hypoglycemia may increase, necessitating potential dose adjustments. Experience with this medication in patients with heart failure is limited, so it should be used with caution. If symptoms of acute pancreatitis, such as severe abdominal pain, occur while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and a doctor should be consulted. There is a possibility of developing a skin condition resembling bullous pemphigoid, so if blisters or skin irritation occur, one should promptly inform a doctor and discontinue the medication. This medication is primarily used in patients with type 2 diabetes, and side effects such as hypoglycemia, infections, gastrointestinal disorders, and skin rashes have been reported. Appropriate action should be taken depending on the severity of any side effects that arise. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and especially for pregnant women, consultation with a doctor is essential before use. It is not recommended for children under 10 years of age; however, safety and efficacy have been reported to be similar to adults in adolescents over 10 years. Elderly patients can use this medication without special dose adjustments, but patients with impaired kidney or liver function can also be administered doses without adjustments. In cases of overdose, measures should be taken to prevent absorption of the medication in the gastrointestinal tract while observing clinical symptoms and providing appropriate treatment if necessary. The medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided to prevent accidents and degradation of quality.
Hives, angioedema, pancreatitis, bullous pemphigoid, acute pancreatitis, heart failure, congestive heart failure, angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, cardiac arrest, acute kidney injury, end-stage kidney disease, acute cholangitis, acute cholecystitis, cholangitis, severe allergic reactions, severe skin adverse reactions, respiratory problems, liver abnormalities (jaundice), severe neurological symptoms, significant edema or urination abnormalities, asthma, dyspnea, headache, seizures.

This medication must be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture, and it is safe to store it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way maintains the effectiveness of the medication and prevents degradation.
