Relief of joint disorders (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.), acute pain, and primary dysmenorrhea
This medication is used to relieve the symptoms or signs of arthritis such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also reduces acute pain that occurs after surgery or tooth extraction, and alleviates pain due to primary dysmenorrhea. It is effective in improving various pain and inflammatory conditions.
The minimum recommended dose of this medicine should be adjusted according to the patient, and it may be taken regardless of meals. ○ Adults 1. Osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis) Take celecoxib 200 mg once daily, or divide the dose into 100 mg twice daily. 2. Rheumatoid arthritis Take celecoxib 100 mg or 200 mg twice daily. 3. Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) Administer celecoxib 200 mg once daily, or divide the dose into 100 mg twice daily. If no effect is observed after 6 weeks, the dose may be increased to 400 mg daily. If no effect is observed after 6 weeks of treatment with 400 mg daily, another treatment method should be considered. 4. Acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea The initial recommended dose is celecoxib 400 mg, with an additional 200 mg on the first day of treatment if needed. From the second day of treatment, the recommended dose, if needed, is 200 mg twice daily. ○ Patients with hepatic impairment For patients with moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class II), the dose should be reduced to approximately 50% of the recommended daily dose.

Use should be limited to the minimum dosage and short duration as it may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease; seek immediate medical consultation if cardiovascular symptoms occur. Special care is needed for the elderly as gastrointestinal perforation, ulcers, bleeding, etc., may occur; immediate assessment and treatment are required if gastrointestinal symptoms appear. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity or allergies, severely impaired liver or kidney function, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with certain diseases should not take this medication. Patients with weak liver or kidney function, asthma, heart failure, or a history of hypertension should be treated with caution and require regular monitoring. This medication may have various side effects; if dizziness, dyspepsia, skin rash, or difficulty breathing occurs while taking it, inform medical personnel immediately. As this medication has many drug interactions, inform healthcare providers of any other medications being taken, especially caution is needed when taken with antihypertensives, anticoagulants, or antidepressants. Pregnant women or those planning pregnancy should avoid this medication, and breastfeeding mothers should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking the medication. The elderly are at a higher risk of reduced kidney and liver functions, requiring careful monitoring and dosage adjustment while taking this medication. If taken long-term, regular blood tests and liver/kidney function tests should be performed, and if any abnormalities are found, use should be discontinued. In case of overdose, symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and drowsiness may occur; seek medical attention immediately for appropriate treatment.
