Generally, 1 tablet orally, 2 times a day before meals and at bedtime, regardless of meals. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers: Administer 1 tablet 2 times a day or 2 tablets once daily at bedtime. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 1 tablet, 2 times a day for 8 weeks, or 2 tablets once daily at bedtime; for severe patients, dosage can be increased to 2 tablets, 4 times a day. 3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Start treatment with an initial dose of 1 tablet 3 times a day, and dosage can be increased as needed. For severe illnesses, up to 6 grams can be administered daily as directed by a physician.

This medication is used for digestive diseases such as ulcers occurring in the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective in preventing ulcers that may occur after surgery and in preventing Mendelson's syndrome before anesthesia. It helps in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used to alleviate and treat various gastrointestinal problems.

How to take

Adult dose

Generally, 1 tablet orally, 2 times a day before meals and at bedtime, regardless of meals. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers: Administer 1 tablet 2 times a day or 2 tablets once daily at bedtime. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 1 tablet, 2 times a day for 8 weeks, or 2 tablets once daily at bedtime; for severe patients, dosage can be increased to 2 tablets, 4 times a day. 3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Start treatment with an initial dose of 1 tablet 3 times a day, and dosage can be increased as needed. Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with severely impaired kidney function or those undergoing dialysis. Moreover, patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components should avoid it. Patients with a history of acute porphyria, a rare blood disorder, should also not use this medication. It should not be administered to patients with poor kidney function, those who have undergone gastric surgery, pregnant women, or women who may become pregnant, as well as premature infants and newborns. Patients on a diet that restricts potassium intake should take caution. Patients with impaired liver function, those with a history of drug allergies, the elderly, and patients with a history of kidney disease should use this medication carefully. Extra caution is required when taken with NSAIDs, and regular check-ups may be necessary. This medication may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so gastric ulcer patients or individuals over middle age with new dyspeptic symptoms should have tests to confirm that it is not a malignant disease before treatment. Patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers who are infected with Helicobacter pylori should receive treatment to eradicate the bacteria. Severely ill patients in intensive care or those with hypophosphatemia, as well as patients with swallowing difficulties, should take this medication with caution. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions like anaphylactic shock, so if any abnormal symptoms appear, stop taking it immediately and seek medical help. Allergic symptoms such as skin rash, hives, angioedema, fever, and difficulty breathing may also occur, so caution is required. Rare side effects such as decreased blood cell counts, liver dysfunction, arrhythmia, gastrointestinal disorders, and neuropsychiatric abnormalities may appear, and if symptoms are severe, stop taking the medication and consult a healthcare professional. Do not use for an extended period and monitor treatment progress carefully; alternative medications may be changed if necessary. Especially for the elderly or patients with chronic diseases, the risk of pneumonia may be increased, so caution is needed. If dizziness or drowsiness occurs, avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication may affect the absorption or metabolism of other drugs, so inform healthcare professionals if taking other medications, and it is advisable to take it at certain intervals from some drugs. It is safest to avoid this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so it is recommended to avoid its use. This medication may affect certain clinical test results; inform healthcare professionals of this at the time of testing. In the event of overdose, emergency measures such as vomiting or gastric lavage may be necessary, and in severe cases, removal through hemodialysis may be performed. This medication can reduce gastric acid secretion, which may promote bacterial proliferation in the stomach; therefore, regular check-ups, including eye examinations, may be necessary with long-term use.
