Improvement of voiding difficulties caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia
This medication is used to improve urination disorders caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia.
In adults, start with naftopidil 25mg once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and take orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted appropriately according to symptoms, but the maximum daily dose is 75mg.
This medication should not be used by patients who have had allergic reactions to its ingredients. This medication contains lactose, so patients with genetic disorders that prevent lactose breakdown should not take this medication. Patients with liver function issues should be cautious as the blood concentration may increase when taking this medication. Patients with severe heart disease or cerebrovascular disease lack experience with this medication, so they should use it cautiously. Elderly individuals may have decreased liver function, so the drug may be eliminated from the body slowly, requiring caution. Patients taking other blood-pressure-lowering medications should consult with a doctor before taking this medication, as there is a risk of excessively low blood pressure. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience dizziness or faintness after taking this medication, so they should be careful. During the use of this medication, side effects such as dizziness, unsteadiness, low blood pressure, and gastrointestinal discomfort may occur, and if unusual symptoms arise, they should inform a doctor immediately. If liver dysfunction or jaundice symptoms appear, discontinue use of the medication and seek medical attention immediately. Rapid drops in blood pressure may lead to fainting or loss of consciousness, so if these symptoms occur, stop taking the medication immediately. Because this medication lowers blood pressure, care should be taken to avoid overdose, and especially to move slowly to prevent dizziness when standing up. When engaging in dangerous activities such as driving or working at heights, there may be dizziness or lightheadedness in the early stages of taking this medication, so caution is advised. Keep out of reach of children, and take the medication out of the packaging before ingestion, as swallowing it with the packaging may cause injury to the esophagus. Elderly individuals may experience drug side effects more readily due to decreased liver function, so their condition should be monitored carefully during use. Taking this medication with other blood-pressure-lowering drugs or certain erectile dysfunction treatments may intensify blood pressure reduction, so consulting a doctor is essential.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
