Precautions

Before taking this medicine, you must check if you have ever had an allergy to this drug or any of its components. It is safest not to take this medicine if you have an allergy. It is advisable not to take medications or supplements containing iron, copper, or calcium at the same time as this medicine because these substances may interfere with the absorption of zinc, which is the active ingredient of this drug. Additionally, if you are taking tetracycline antibiotics, you must take this medicine at least 4 hours apart to avoid interfering with the absorption of both medications. Chelating agents such as D-penicillamine or edetic acid could also interfere with the absorption of this drug or increase its excretion, so it is best not to take them together. Caution is advised when taking this drug simultaneously with the quinolone antibiotic ofloxacin, as it may inhibit the absorption of ofloxacin. Foods high in phytates, such as cereals, legumes, and nuts, may hinder the absorption of zinc from this medicine, so care should be taken during meals. If you experience discomfort, poor digestion, upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, hypotension, or symptoms of pulmonary edema while taking this medicine, immediately stop taking it and consult a doctor, dentist, or pharmacist. It's helpful to bring this medicine's leaflet when consulting. You must strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage and duration set by the doctor, and it is safest to take it only for the period specified by the doctor. If symptoms do not improve after about one month of taking it, you should consult a specialist. If taken for a long time, it is necessary to periodically check the levels of zinc and copper to ensure there are no abnormalities. Overdosage may cause symptoms such as a metallic taste, headache, diarrhea, and vomiting; however, these symptoms will disappear upon discontinuation of the drug. It is generally safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women to take it according to the recommended dosage and duration. If swallowing the capsule is difficult, the capsule can be opened and the contents mixed with water or fruit juice for ingestion. This medicine should be kept out of reach of children, and it is important to store it in its original packaging tightly closed. Transferring it to another container may pose a risk of misuse or degrade the quality of the medication.
