This medication is used as a combination replacement therapy for patients who are required to take Metformin Hydrochloride and Rosuvastatin Calcium together.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily with the evening meal for adults.

Precautions

This medication can rarely cause a severe metabolic complication known as lactic acidosis; if symptoms of lactic acidosis appear, consult a doctor immediately. There is a risk of hypoglycemia when taken with other diabetes medications, so blood glucose changes should be closely monitored. Those allergic to any of the ingredients in this medication or similar drugs should not use it. If liver function is poor or there is liver disease, taking this medication may be risky, so it should be avoided. Exercise caution if there are muscle-related diseases or if taking certain immunosuppressants. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, or women of childbearing potential, should consult a doctor before using this medication. Patients with specific health conditions such as significant renal function impairment, severe dehydration, severe infections, or acute heart disease should avoid this medication as it may be hazardous. Before and after examinations using iodine contrast agents, this medication should be temporarily discontinued, and it should only be resumed once renal function is confirmed to be normal. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children have not been established, hence it is not used in children. Elderly patients may have a risk of reduced kidney function, so regular renal function tests should be conducted before and during treatment. During treatment, if symptoms such as muscle pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, or fever occur, inform a doctor immediately, and the medication may need to be discontinued in severe cases. Alcohol may increase the risk of side effects from this medication, so it is advisable to avoid drinking while on this medication. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if currently taking any other medications, be sure to inform your healthcare provider. Pregnant women should not take this medication, and it is also recommended to avoid it while breastfeeding. When storing the medication, keep it out of reach of children, and store it sealed in its original container.
