When taken with other diabetes medications, there is a risk of hypoglycemia, so blood glucose levels should be carefully monitored. Individuals with a history of allergic reactions to any component in this drug should not use it, nor should it be administered to patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function. Patients with muscle disorders or certain immune-related myopathies, and those taking specific immunosuppressants should also avoid use. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as women who may become pregnant, should not use this drug and should employ effective contraception methods. If there is an acute or severe disease of the heart or kidneys, or iodine contrast agents are used in specific tests, administration should be discontinued or avoided. Care should be taken in cases of irregular meals, vigorous exercise, or potential drug interactions, and if muscle pain or weakness occurs, medical personnel should be informed immediately. This drug may cause gastrointestinal disturbances (diarrhea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia), skin rashes, muscle pain, liver function abnormalities, and if any unusual symptoms occur, consultation with medical personnel is advised. Regular kidney and liver function tests should be performed, particularly for elderly patients or those with diminished kidney function, who may require more frequent tests. Alcohol consumption can increase the risk of side effects from this drug, so excessive drinking should be avoided during treatment. This drug can affect blood glucose control, so diabetes patients should frequently check their blood sugar levels and adjust dosages as needed. In case of overdose, immediate medical attention should be sought, and certain components can be removed via dialysis.
